Students in grades 5 and 6 participate in training for safety patrol. These students are scheduled to ensure the safety of our elementary students before and after school. Safety Patrol is run in partnership with our local police force. Each year, four students are sent to Legionville Safety Patrol Camp, which, focuses on safety and leadership.
Students in grades 5 and 6 have an opportunity to serve on the Student Council. Some of the activities of the Student Council include planning fun activities for special events such as Homecoming week and Catholic Schools Week.
The Math Masters program challenges our students to use their problem-solving skills in mathematical situations. The SAE program offers competitive teams for students in 5th and 6th grade. Practice sessions are held weekly from 7:30 AM-8:00 AM starting in December. Practice sessions build on previously learned math skills and instruction is provided on new math concepts. As the competition date nears, additional sessions may be added. The Math Masters competition is held at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. Grade 6 teams compete in March and the 5th grade teams in April.

The Robotics Club will provide an out-of-school opportunity for students in grades 4-6 to participate in Robotics. Robotics is highly engaging and assists students in rapid learning in areas such as science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
