Aluminum Can Collection and Scrip Sales: Saturday, June 7, 2008 in the Holy Trinity Middle School parking lot, 8:30 – 10:30 A.M. Volunteers are needed.
Spring Concerts
Holy Trinity Middle School students will perform at a choir and band concert on Wednesday, May 7 at 7:00 P.M. in the CHS gym.
Cathedral High School students will present a band and choir spring concert on Wednesday, May 14 at 7:30 P.M. in the CHS gym.
Both concerts are open to the public and promise to be very entertaining!
Art and Industrial Art Show
The public is invited to attend the annual Art and Industrial Art show on Wednesday, May 21 in the CHS gym. Art work from HTMS and CHS students and Industrial Art projects of CHS students will be on display. The hours of the show are from 8:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M.
Musical Achievements at CHS
State Section Large Group Music Contest/ Festival: The Section Band and Choir Large Group
Music Contest was held on March 12. Groups performed before three judges
and were evaluated in areas such as tone quality, intonation, rhythm,
balance and blend, technique, interpretation, musicianship, appearance,
conduct, and choice of literature. Each judge was allowed to give up to
40 points based on all performance factors. An award of Superior is given
if the point range is from 35 to 40. The CHS Concert Band received three Superior ratings for their performance. The CHS Choir received two Superior ratings and one Excellent Rating. Congratulations to all our
students and our musical directors Marijo Sweeney and Don Jirak!
State Section Solo and Ensemble Contest: The CHS choir and band once again gave amazing
performances at the Section Solo and Ensemble Contest held at Minnesota
State University in Mankato on Saturday April 19, 2008. CHS Band members
Brady Waibel and Frankie Johnson received a Superior Rating on their
saxophone duet, and Monica Reising and Sadie Olson received Superior
Ratings for their vocal solos. Excellent Ratings were awarded to Dharam
Dhami for her vocal solo, and to Dharam and Jaya Dhami for their vocal
duet.
